Crochet Beanie Frenzy

I went on a crochet beanie frenzy in December before Christmas. I made about eight hats!!

Below are the pictures and patterns I used. I only took pictures of five of the hats.

The first hat was for a teenage boy who wanted these colors.
I also used this pattern to make his dad a beanie in a green color with wool yarn.

This was a special request from my neighbor.
It was made with 100% Wool and the black is Kid Mohair Silk- fancy!!
I used the same pattern as above.

This beanie I made for my little man.
I also used this pattern to make a 4 year old a hat in the same color yarn as the first beanie.
(The link to the pattern is underlined in the middle of the page)

I made my lover a beanie using super bulky yarn in gray.
He needed something to keep him warm at work since he works outside.
I just couldn't find a pattern I like for the super bulky yarn so I used a basic beanie pattern as a guide.
(I used half double crochet's)
I constantly kept asking him to measure the hat and I think it turned out okay!

This one is also for my neighbor in her favorite color: lime green.
I used this pattern to make my dad a navy blue hat too.

Now I only  need to make myself one!

Super Soft Sugar Cookies

These are to die for cookies. I loved these and so did everyone else.
It's Always Autumn has the recipe on her blog. Make sure you read her very helpful tips towards the bottom of her post.

These are just like the ones you buy at the store but much more budget friendly.

I prepped all my ingredients:

I rolled out the dough with my hands (more like pressed) and
made them half an inch thick (not the 3/4 inch):
Make sure to use lots of flour. The dough will stick to the counter if you don't.
(I used my sons drinking cup to cut out the circles. I know, sooo professional)

10 min in the oven and voila!!
Don't over bake them!

I whipped up the frosting, frosted the cookies, and they are done!

First Projects of the Year

Once again, I've been MIA and I'm truly sorry for that. We moved to Arizona in hopes of a new future but ends up being we were wrong so we humbly moved back to Idaho. Nothing says FAIL like that move. We learned that we can't rely on others and from our mistakes we now know what we need to do. Thankfully, we are in a very cute place in Idaho and enjoying our lives as we are now standing tall and taking action for what we want.

With that said Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!!

I'm not a huge believer in New Years resolutions;we should always be reevaluating ourselves and changing on a daily basis not just once a year. With that said, I still gave myself a resolution:
52 Projects in a Year!!
I want to keep creating things so I love the idea of having to make something once a week. I'm always coming across with new ideas or recipes on Pinterest so here is my opportunity to tap into the 3.6k pins I have pinned!

We are well into the second week of January so I'll be postin what I've made this week later but for now here's what I've made the first week of January.

Crochet Fingerless Gloves by

They are perfect and just what I was looking for. This was also a great project to use up a major portion of his yarn that seems to have been in my stash for too long.

I also finally brought out my sewing machine from storage and used it to  hem a pair of pants for my friend's dad.
(I didn't take a pic) :(

That definitely striked my motivation to sew something again.

See you soon!
